TRUST IN THE LORD FOREVER

Isaiah 26:1-21

I. In Perfect Peace (vs. 1-6)
   a. Peace after wrath continues as a theme in ch. 26. Jerusalem is in view
during the millennial reign of Christ. Who will be allowed to enter through
    the open gates?

   b. Who is kept in perfect peace and why?

   c. The pride and arrogance mentioned in ch. 25 symbolized as Moab, and
now in vs. 5-6, will be dealt with how?

II. We Have Waited For You (vs. 7-15)
   a. How is a person declared just, and what will be his way of life, any why?
       (Rom. 3:20-28, 5:1, 9, Gal 2:16 etc)

   b. How do vs. 8-9 reveal the hearts of those who love the Lord?

   c. Contrasted with vs. 8-9, who is revealed in vs. 10-11?

   d. How has the Lord shown Himself superior to all those who had dominion
    over God’s people?

III. Behold, The Lord Comes (vs. 16-21)
   a. God’s people are portrayed as struggling in the travails of life and crying
out as a woman giving birth. For all their efforts, what were they able to
    accomplish in the flesh?

   b. What beautiful promise is pronounced in verse 19?

   c. Vs. 20-21 show us that all the wonderful peace in ch 25-26 are still in the
future. What will God’s people do while God’s wrath is poured out.

Application: “Perfect peace” may seem elusive, but what is the secret revealed in this passage for those who would have it?
