The Flood
Genesis 7:1-24
I. Come Into the Ark (vs. 1-9)
a. What is significant about the Lord telling Noah, “come into the ark?
b. What is the Lord’s evaluation of Noah?
c. Was there a distinction made between the clean and unclean animals and birds?
d. How much time is left before the flood?
e. How long will it take the Lord to flood the earth and what will be the outcome?
f. When did Noah and his family enter the ark based on verse 7?
g. Did Noah have to gather the animals into the ark?
II. It is Raining (vs. 10-16)
a. What attribute of God is demonstrated in verse 10?
b. Where did all the water come from to flood the earth?
c. Why does the Scripture list the complete manifest of people and relate that the complete menagerie of animals, birds, creeping things, etc. in which was the breath of life entered the ark?
d. Who closes the door on the ark?
III. This Boat Will Float (vs. 17-24)
a. Did the flood only last forty days or was that how long it took to flood the earth?
b. Was this a minor local event or does it state even the mountains were covered? (*the mountains of Ararat are about 16,000’)
c. How extensive was the loss of life outside the ark?
d. Why do the Scriptures warn that every living thing (outside the ark) would die (vs. 4) then affirm every living thing that was on dry land died (vs. 21-23)?
e. How long did the flood prevail?
Application: Why should people heed the warnings in the Scriptures that tell us God will judge sin punish the guilty?
And more importantly there is a way that is even better than escape…blessing and welcome into His presence?
