I. Arise and Go (vs. 26-28)
a. Where did the order to arise and go originate?
b. How specific were the directions Philip received vs acts 9:11?
c. Was Philip told who he was to contact or what it was about?
d. Where had the Ethiopian been and for what purpose?
e. What was the real clue in verse 28 that the Ethiopian was his
“appointment?”
II. Philip Preached Jesus (vs. 29-35)
a. How was it confirmed that he was to speak to the Ethiopian?
b. Did Philip immediately just start preaching Jesus to the Ethiopian?
c. What is significant about what the Ethiopian was reading?
d. Did the Ethiopian understand the Scriptures?
e. Why was Philip able to confidently proclaim Jesus from this Scripture?
III. I Believe (vs. 36-40)
a. Who initiated the action of baptism?
b. What did Philip state was necessary for the Ethiopian to be baptized?
c. Is it important what the Ethiopian believed and confessed?
Why?
d. What happened to Philip after he baptized the Ethiopian?
e. What was the Ethiopians response to what he had experienced?
f. Did this event change Philip?
IV. Application: Did Philip have to force the conversation leading to the Ethiopian’s conversion or did it seem natural? Can the Lord guide our conversations to “naturally” share Christ?
