NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH
Isaiah 65:13-25
I. The Lord Cares for His Own (vs 13-16)
a. In a passage that shows a clear difference between the saved and lost, it
appears this passage speaks to the time of the tribulation. What evidence
supports this?
b. Will the tribulation be experientially the same for believers and
unbelievers?
c. What does the Lord promise for those who believe?
d. What will the unbelievers experience?
II. New Heavens and a New Earth (vs 17-19)
a. What can we determine from the phrase “new heavens?”
b. The chronology of the prophetic visions are often merged, making it
difficult to see linear chronological transitions. We know from Revelation
21:1 that this speaks to the time after the Millennial reign. Is the Lord done
creating?
c. What blessings will this time yield, and for how long?
III. The Millennial Reign (vs 20-25)
a. What will change about human life during the Millennium?
b. Will there still be sinners during the Millenium? If so, how?
c. With the curse lifted, what two benefits will a man receive for his labor?
d. How will the curse being lifted affect ‘wild animals?’
Application:
The events and chronology of the end times are more easily followed in Revelation, but the details are consistent in the prophetic books of the OT. Those born in the Millenium will still have to believe and be saved. Those that reject will be accursed. Even with Christ reigning physically on this earth, some will reject Him and choose to follow Satan to their own destruction. Is this shocking?
