At the direction and encouragement of our team here in Québec, we have spent the summer settling in and getting to know the culture and community of this beautiful city.
We've uncovered many neighborhood parks, bought memberships to the local aquarium, tried to visit Old Québec the same day the Pope was in town (unbeknownst to us), and learned how to drive a handful of places without our GPS. We've spent a lot of time just observing people, seeing how they dress and speak, what they buy at the stores, and where they like to eat.
We're feeling antsy to get to work. We’re excited to put our hands to the tasks before us and settle into a routine that allows space to serve in a fuller capacity. Our girls will start kindergarten and first grade at a French school in late August; we're doing all we can to prepare them for what will likely be a few difficult months of language learning by immersion. We are plugged into a new church plant called Maison Coram Deo (House before the Face of God) and praying about university student ministry opportunities.
