a. How do we know that verses 21-22 preceded verse 20?

- The Lineage of Jesus (23-38)
a. How old was Jesus when He began His earthly ministry?
b. Luke begins the genealogy with Jesus and lists the all the way back to Adam. How does this differ from Matthews recorded lineage?
c. Notably different in the genealogy are the names from Heli (vs 23) to Zerubbabel (vs. 27)…what could account for this difference? (clue in vs. 23)
d. What significant name in verse 31 fulfills specific prophecy concerning the Christ?
e. How could Luke effectively trace the lineage with a great deal of confidence? (Gen 5:3-32, 11:10-26, Ruth 4:18-22, 1 Chronicles 1:1-4 and 24-28,

III. Application: 1 Timothy 1:3-4 warns against wasting time with “endless genealogies.” Is Paul referring to Luke or Matthews lists or something else?
