Acts 14:21-28
I. They Returned (vs. 21-22)
a. What did Paul and Barnabas do in Derbe? (vs. 20-21)
b. After they made many disciples in Derbe, where do they intentionally go?
c. What specific things do they do with the disciples in each city? _
d. What truth do they share that will help prepare them for the persecution
that was to come upon them all?
II. Appointing Elders (vs. 23-25)
a. What purpose would be served by appointing elders in every church?
b. How do we know that this appointment was something they took very
seriously?
c. Having been responsible to preach the word and disciple these new
believers, in Whose care do they ultimately leave them?
d. Does it seem Paul and Barnabas were pretty thorough in retracing their
steps on this first missionary journey?
III. Back Home in Antioch (vs. 26-28)
a. Why do Paul and Barnabas return to Antioch?
b. Which Antioch is this and why is this important?
c. Did Paul and Barnabas leave anything unfinished as they concluded their
mission?
d. What did they report to the full church?
e. Does it seem important in their report, that God had opened the door of
faith to the Gentiles?
f. Do Paul and Barnabas immediately head out on another adventure?
IV. Application: Why is it important to follow-up wit those we have led to Christ?
And to report back to the church after a mission?
