I. A Terrible People (vs. 1-3)

Ethiopia was known for. Who do you think is a people tall and smooth of skin?
b. Against the backdrop of current events in Isaiah’s day what was the peril even to the Ethiopians?

II. He Will Both Cut Off…And Take Away (vs. 4-6)
a. Is the Lord hurried in visiting His judgment on Ethiopia? How do you know?
b. The time of their destruction is marked by what natural events?
c. What will be left in Ethiopia and who will occupy it?
III. A Present (vs. 7)
a. This passage also holds near and far prophesies. The near was impending judgment and the far offered great hope.
b. Who will bring tribute to the Lord of Hosts?
c. What will need to happen for this passage to come to pass?
d. When can you envision this passage will become reality?
Application: Isolation, power, resources…what good are these things when a nation is standing in the crosshairs of the Lord’s judgment? Pride, strength, arrogance, and ungodliness…are these sins a nation can still commit and be judged by God even in our time?
