Genesis 2:1-25
I. Day 7 (vs. 1-3)
a. What does verse 1 state was still lacking in God’s creation?
b. What does God do on Day 7?
c. When verse 2 states God “rested” from all the work it is not from weariness but completion. Is it important that we know He completes what He begins?
d. Is God still at work even though He rested from creating? (John 5:17)
e. At this point in history the world was uncorrupted by sin. Adam would enjoy the real physical / spiritual company of his Creator face to face without worry, guilt, fear etc. but with joy and peace and love.
II. Expounding on Man’s Creation (vs. 4-7)
a. What does verse 5 reveal about the weather and God’s process for watering His creation?
b. Verse 7, What material did God use to make the first man?
c. How does God bring this first man to life?
III. In the Garden (vs. 8-25)
a. Who plants the garden in Eden?
b. What two trees were named as being in the garden?
c. What is significant about the river that waters the garden?
d. What command does God give this man regarding the garden he was to tend and keep?
e. What were the consequences for disobedience?
f. What did God state about the singleness of man?
g. Along with tending the garden what other job does Adam have?
h. When in all of the creatures there was not a comparable helper what does God do?
i. What takes place in God bringing the woman to Adam (vs. 22-24)?
j. Why were Adam and the woman not ashamed about being naked?
Application: What can we understand about the personal attention given to Adam by God and His care that he not be alone?
