Genesis 6:1-22

I. The Sons of God and the Daughters of Men (vs. 1-4)

a. What happened when men began to multiply on the face of the earth?
 

b. What action was taken by the “sons of God” and why?

 

c. There is disagreement as to the identities of the sons of God and the daughters of men.  Some believe angels cohabitated with human women and their offspring were giants.  Others view the sons of God belonging to Seth’s line and the daughters of men Cain’s line.  Based on Scripture which seems most plausible and why? 

 

 

d. That giants were on the earth is not in dispute …Are there still ‘giants’ among us today? 

      
     


II. Man’s Wickedness (vs. 5-12)

           a. What was God’s evaluation of man in verse 5?

 

        b. What emotions arise in God’s heart based on His evaluation? 

 

 

     c. What does God determine to do with sinful mankind and the creation man has corrupted by sin?

III. Noah, Make an Ark! (vs. 13-22)

a. What incited God to destroy “all flesh” and the earth? 

 

b. Was Noah left to build the ark according to his own design or was it according to God’s plan? 

 

 

c. The ark in modern terms was roughly 450’ long, 75’ wide and 45’ tall.  It had three decks.   What other accents are listed?

 

d.  Does God reveal what He intends to do?

 

 

e.  What / who does God say to take on the ark?
