TRUMPET JUDGMENT SIX: THE TWO WITNESSES

 

Revelation 11:1-14

 

I.  THE TEMPLE (vs. 1-2)

a. What was John to measure with the reed?

 

b. What part was John not to measure and why? 

        c. How long were the Gentiles going to tread the holy city underfoot?             

        d. Why is this period of time important?

 

II. THE TWO WITNESSES (vs. 3-10)

a. Who empowers the two witnesses and for what purpose?

 

b. Where would these two be preaching and why wear sackcloth?

 

 

c. What words does John use to describe these witnesses?

 

 

d. What is the significance of the olive trees and lamp stands?

 

 

e. What signs are these witnesses able to produce?

 

 

f. Who do you think these figures represent? Do the identities of these two really matter?

 

g. Who overcomes these witnesses and how?

 

 

h. Why would people celebrate the death of these witnesses?

 

III. THE TWO WITNESSES RESURRECTED (vs. 11-14)

a. How long did the witnesses stay dead? 

         b. What happened after 3.5 days?

 

         c. What happened after the two ascended to heaven?
 

IV. Application:   Why would God empower and protect these two witnesses for this period of time?
