I.   With God you are already a success

a.  How would you describe Joseph’s current station in life?  

b. What circumstances have put Joseph where he is?

c.  Would you describe the environment Joseph finds himself sympathetic to his Jewish upbringing?

d. Which of the things beyond his control does he allow to deter him from following God and doing everything well?

II.  Your life glorifies God

a.   Did anyone notice God at work in and through Joseph?

b.  Was Joseph able to just blend in and become part of the background if not why not?

c.  How would you say that Joseph’s life models Matthew 5:16?

III.  God blesses others through you

a.  Name three persons or things this passage states God blessed on account of Joseph?

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­b.  How are Joseph’s actions consistent with God’s instructions to His people while in captivity in Babylon (Jeremiah 29:7)?

c.  How can we see Romans 8:28 in action in this phase of Joseph’s life?

IV.  Application:  Many times in life we find ourselves in difficult circumstances, environments hostile to our faith, or subordinate positions that make it a challenge for us to do our best and pray for the peace and wellbeing of those right before us.  Must we do it anyway?  How is it possible for us to do it?
