 REMEMBER MY CHAINS

COLOSSIANS 4:7-18

I.   PAUL’S COMPANIONS

a.  How did Paul feel about Tychicus and why?

b.  Why do you believe Paul would send Tychicus with Onesimus to Colosse to make known “all that was happening?”(see Philemon)

c.  Do you think Paul was lonely at this time? why or why not?

II.  VITAL COMMUNICATIONS

a.  Why were communications so vital to the early church?

b.  What was Epaphras specific ministry?

c.   What link do you see between communications and Epaphras ministry?

III.  CLOSING EXHORTATIONS

a.  Paul desired this letter to be read where?

b.  The main heresies that this letter was aimed at combating were Philosophy, Legalism, and Carnality (worldliness) (ch 1-3).   What significance do you see in Paul pointedly telling Archippus “take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it?”

c.  Paul’s final exhortation is for the Colossian believers to remember his chains.  What would this remembrance ensure?

IV.  Application:  Communications in our day has made the process of informing fellow Christians about activities such as missionary endeavors and church planting activities almost effortless.  The problem is that we too often take a detached view of this information and fail to appreciate that these believers need our prayers.  How can we ensure that their chains are not forgotten?
