Pastor Tom's July Newsletter 2020

July 2020

We begin July by celebrating the 4th of July, Independence Day. As a nation we have been blessed and kept by God… but we see tremendous chaos, divisiveness, and lawlessness erupting in our country even as the coronavirus pandemic is still causing much harm. I ask that we pray that a God given revival would take place and a spirit of order, justice, mercy, and grace replace the current threat to our republic! As Christians it is vital that we remain faithful and courageous in the freedom we have in Christ and never take it for granted. For it is for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore, keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

During our church picnic July 5th, we will be enjoying an Independence Day celebration. Hamburgers and hotdogs and picnic food items will be provided. We ask that any items brought to share would be individually wrapped (ice cream sandwiches etc.). This fellowship time is wonderful for getting to know our other church family members. Weather permitting, we will enjoy a church kickball or whiffle ball game on the ball field! I heard something about the youth against the adults???

It is time for VBS…July 27-31!!! Our church is the only Hatcher Pass Baptist Association church in the Palmer Wasilla area scheduling VBS this year. Jennifer Gosh and Jackie Hughes have been planning and thinking about how best to proceed that honors God, proclaims Christ and His Gospel while taking precautions to keep all the kids and VBS staff safe and healthy. There are a series of important dates for the VBS workers so see the church calendar, so you do not miss anything.

Again, pray for our nation. Pray for repentance and revival. If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
