Pastor Tom's January 2020 Newsletter

January 2020

Happy New Year! With the New Year comes an opportunity to make changes. I know that we can do that anytime we set our hearts to do it, but the New Year often provides the incentive. When making resolutions make sure that they are reasonable, positive, and attainable. If we make resolutions that are overly demanding, we often get frustrated and quit quickly. If we set our goals too low, we will often just ignore them. When we set goals that are positive and challenging but attainable, we will see good results. One goal that is great for every believer is to read through the Bible in a year. If you need a plan there are several that I can recommend. Take steps to make 2020 a better year.

Our 20/20 vision for this coming year involves the whole church. I pray that every member will be involved in discipleship: Sunday school and Bible study. I pray that we will reach our community in witness and invite more people to church. I pray that we will continue to grow in our ministering to and through the body of Christ and that more people will invest themselves in that ministry. I pray that our church (youth and adults) to be more involved in missions. We have prayed, we have given, maybe it is time to step out and go! Our Mission Committee will let us know of opportunities both near and far that we can consider going and participating in missions! Last year I encouraged the church to pray for opportunities for each of us to witness to at least one person during the year. I do not believe it is a coincidence that we baptized more people last year. Let us keep that focus this year as well. Pray for opportunities and when they come trust the Lord to lead your conversation to Who Christ is to you and how others can know Him too.

God Bless You All,

Pastor Tom
