Praise The Lord ~ Psalm 33:1-22

 

I.   PRAISE THE LORD (vs. 1-5)
a. What obligation do the upright have toward God?

b. What does David have to say about use of instruments in worship?

c. Why do you think the upright are encouraged to sing a new song?

d. What characteristics of God presented in verses 4-5 ought to be included in our songs of praise and worship?

II. HE SPOKE (vs. 6-9)
a. How does verse 6 and 9 compare with the idea that God used gradual creation or theistic evolution to create the world?

b. What should our attitude be toward God when we consider what He has created?

III. BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD (vs. 10-22)

a. Whose counsel is enduring, man’s or God’s?

b. Why does this passage say that God looks at His creation man?            

c. In what kinds of things do men foolishly place their trust?

d. Who does the Lord help?

e. How do trusting in the Lord and being blessed by the Lord work together?

IV. Application:   The entire Psalm is wrapped up around Who God is and what He has done.  How should we respond toward God when we consider all that He has done and all that He is doing?
