b. What other descriptions does the scripture use for believers?

c.  Does understanding how God sees you call you to a higher standard?

II.  DRESSED UP

Note: ‘put on’ (Greek) enduo= to sink into a garment, to invest with clothing, array, clothe, put on

a.  What is the Christian to “put on?”

b.  Does this passage mean we are to pretend to be like this?

c.  What characteristics are to be evident towards others?

III.  FILLED UP

a.  Why do you suppose that vs. 15 and 16 use the word “let?”

b.  What are we to let rule our hearts?

c.  What are we to let dwell in us richly?

d.  When the peace of God and the word of Christ fill us what is the spiritual outcome?  (vs. 16)

e.  Without all the above-mentioned characteristics of Christ in our lives can we ever hope to fulfill verse 17?

IV.  Application:   Evidence of the new life in Christ is described in scripture as fruit (see Gal 5:22-23).  The Holy Spirit produces this through the believer because we belong to Christ.  What happens that Christians sometimes get off track and their lives look barren of fruit?  Is it that the Holy Spirit is not working or is it that we have grieved the Holy Spirit and pridefully deviated from God’s direction for our lives?  If there is no fruit what must we do?
