INTRODUCTION TO HOSEA

HOSEA 1:1-11                                                                   DO WHAT???

*Hosea prophesied from 755-725 BC. This was a dark time in Israel’s history with the divided kingdom. Of the last six kings, four were assassinated and the other two ascended to the throne because of assassination. It was also a time of great prophetic revelation. Hosea’s time of prophesy overlapped Amos (also in Israel) and Isaiah and Micah in Judah. The theme of the Book of Hosea is God’s redeeming love toward Israel. Beyond his prophesy little is known of Hosea other than he is the son of Beeri.
