April 2018

Dear Church Family,

God is great and greatly to be praised!  April is upon us and this year Easter is April 1st.  This is my favorite Sunday of the year because we remember the tremendous price paid to redeem us from our sin and then celebrate the resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ!

We are moving forward with plans to build our Education Wing this summer.  With all the workers coming to help us we have the opportunity to serve them!  Loraine Pentimone is coordinating our summer meal ministry to help feed the workers.  She is having a meeting this week to form a plan and will let the church know what we will need to support our work teams this summer and enlist our folks to serve.  As someone who served on the breakfast crew during the 2012 build, I can say with absolute certainty that it is a blessing to serve those who are here to serve the Lord by serving us!  Please plug in where and when you can!

VBS plans are in progress and Jennifer Gosh is on the job as the director.  She will be enlisting teachers and helpers for our VBS the first week of August. Pray about where you can participate in this powerful evangelistic outreach to our community.

The 22nd annual halibut fish fry is scheduled for April 27th at 6 p.m. here at Fairview Loop Baptist Church.  It will be a potluck dinner so please bring something to share.  The halibut will be provided.  Please come and bring your friends. The youth will host their annual servant auction to raise funds for their summer missions…so if you have a project that you will need help with come and bid on a youth or two to help.

There are many in the Church Body who are experiencing a variety of difficulties.  Remember that none of these things took God by surprise.  He knows not only where you are but also what you need.  It these times be steadfast in prayer, in the Word, and connected with your church family.  God may be trying to teach us something through the trial that we will not learn in any other way. Trust God and remember you are not alone.

James 1:2-4   My brethren, count it all joy when you

 fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of

your  faith produces patience.
4 But let patience have

its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete,

 lacking nothing.
