Jeremiah 48:29-47

 

I.                The Pride of Moab (vs. 29-33)

*Moab descended from Lot and dwelt east of the Dead Sea.  Here they fall under God’s punishment at the hands of the Babylonians / Chaldeans around 588-586 B.C.

     a. What kinds of things may have led to Moab’s pride? (vs. 1, 7, 14)

II.              My Heart Shall Wail (vs. 34-39)

     a. More cities destined for destruction are listed here ie vs 34 “a three year

     old heifer” is rendered the Third Eglath.  What particular sin is declared a reason

     for the destruction? _________________________________________________

     b. What is symbolized by the bald heads, clipped beards, cut hands, and

     c. How do verses 38-39 show the intentional aspect of the destruction
